A SPECIAL STATEMENT REGARDING COVID-19
The health and safety of our guests, as well as our family of employees, is the No. 1 priority for EJ’s Luncheonette. As a fixture in NYC for nearly 30 years, it is our responsibility to be proactive in challenging times.
Currently, we are following guidance and recommendations from the City of New York Health Department and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), while continuing to evaluate our standard procedures. Our restaurant has been meeting food safety and sanitation standards for decades, so these protocols are already in place, and we continue to maintain the highest possible standards in service and product quality.
However, as we continue to monitor current events, we are increasing these protocols, with additional layers of caution and mindfulness, to provide peace of mind to our guests and team members.
These changes include:
- Atmosair system: We have installed an air purification system as a solution to reduce inhalable particle matter and pathogens to create a healthy indoor environment for our impending indoor opening. https://atmosair.com/
- Increasing the frequency of cleaning practices and decontamination procedures within our restaurant dining room, kitchens storage rooms and restrooms
- Increased presence and use of masks, gloves, hand sanitizers and soap.
- Ensuring that our staff are continuously updated and educated on preventative measures outlined by the City of New York Health Department and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Additionally, all staff members have been advised not to report to work and to seek medical attention if they are experiencing flu-like symptoms or have come into contact with affected individuals.
As we prepare to open our dining room, we are already taking measures to provide glass partitions between tables, booths, cashier and common walking areas. EJ’s has always been considered a safe haven for our thousands of loyal guests. We will continue to provide that extra measure of safety and preparedness to maximize the safety of our guests and our employees.
